D. Answer the following questions.

1. Define the term peripheral device.

Ans. The term peripheral device defined as  all hardware components that are attached to a computer and are controlled by the computer system, but they are not the core components of the computer and which can be easily removed and plugged into a computer system.


2. Differentiate between printer and projector.

Ans. Printer:- A printer is used to print information that you see on the monitor, to a paper. The printed paper is called printout.

Projector:-  It projects images or video from computer on screen.


3. Describe the port that is used to plug-in keyboard and mouse.

Ans. Universal Serial Bus or the USB port: Connects peripheral devices, such as a mouse or a keyboard or a printer to a computer using the cable.


4. Slots are often called expansion slots. Why?

Ans. Slots are often called expansion slots because slots 

is located on the motherboard that allows you to expand the capabilities of a computer. 


5. Compare the storage capacities of CD, DVD and Blu-ray.

Ans. The storage capacity of a Blu-ray disc equals to 10 recordable DVDs or around 70 recordable CDs.
