Ans. The operating system is atype of system software that runs the computer. It translate all your instructions so that a computer can understand. 

2. Why taskbar is an important element of the desktop screen?
Ans. Taskbar shows the shortcuts to applications that are running on the system and allows you to switch between them. 

3. How will you customise the taskbar, if you wish to change the location of taskbar?
Ans. Select the Taskbar settings option in the shortcut menu. And go to option Taskbar location on screen. The drop-down menu has four options: Bottom, Right, Top and Left.

4. How will you reduce the volume of speakers?
Ans. Click the Speaker icon in the notification area and drag the slider from right to left to decrease the volume.

5. How can you change the date on the taskbar?
Ans. 
Step 1: Click Start button.
Step 2: Select the Settings option.
Step 3: Select Time and Language.
Step 4: In the right pane, turn off the Set time automatically 
features.
 Step 5: Under the Set date and time manually, click Change.
Step 6: Make the desired changes and click Change.
Step 7: Close the Settings window.
